If you require a custom news feed please contact us to tell us about your requirements, so we can provide you with a quote. The way that the custom News Feeds usually work is that you let us know the following information, and we will then send you a quote:

  • What subject area you require the custom News Feed to be on.
  • If you have any particular websites in mind to use as sources for the News Feed please let us know. We can index any website to get relevant news and information from. We have had many years to modify our intelligent algorithms that we employ to work out what is news on a website and what is not.
  • If you would like a general search across several thousand news sites to be used for some specific keywords.
  • If you would like keyword matching to be employed, and what keywords to use. For example if you would like only headlines that contain a specific word to be included in the News Feed.

That's it! We will provide our expertise to you at no additional cost to advise you on the best course for News Feed setup.

The News Feeds can be delivered in a number of different types from JavaScript to XML to make it very easy for you to integrate into your web site. The feed can be static text or scrolling text - you can use any font size and colour that you like such that it blends in perfectly with your website.

There are no limits to how much we can customise a News Feed for your use, please contact us about this service if you have any questions whatsoever.

We do all the work

We have a new service available, whereby all you have to do is tell us the subject area you are interested in for a custom News Feed and we will do all of the research into that to enable the setup of the feed.

No Risk Purchase

If you purchase a custom News Feed from us, once it has been setup, all modifications to it are free of charge, which makes it no risk to you in getting a News Feed. For example if you would like to add a few more sources or take away some that's fine.

Free Trial

If you would like to try out one of the existing news feeds that we have for a week, please do so at no cost to you. Just follow these simple instructions and you can have a news feed working within a few minutes. If you require any help please let us know and we will make sure that you get it up and running.

Our News Feeds consist of two parts:

  1. The data file which sits on our servers and is updated every 15 minutes, this contains the actual news headlines and related data.
  2. The rendering of the News Feed in a web page, this is done via a simple to use JavaScript file we have.

There are numerous different rendering styles that we offer for the news feeds, all of which are very easy to customise and have blend in with your existing website design.

We offer two main News Feed rendering modes, one which displays the headlines like a Type Writer and another which Scrolls the headlines.

Installing Type Writer news feed

This is how you add the typewriter-based news feed renderer to your page.

1) Download newsfeed-typewrite.zip. Unzip the downloaded archive in the same directory where your web page is located on your web server. A directory called newsfeed-typewrite is created, containing the needed files.

2) Place the following lines in the <head> section of your page:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="newsfeed-typewrite/newsfeed-typewrite.css" type="text/css" />
<script language="JavaScript" src="newsfeed-typewrite/newsfeed-typewrite.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.easybyte.com/international.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

The first line includes the style sheet which defines the fonts and colours to use in the news feed. You can edit this in any popular web page editor to customise the feed to the look and feel of your website. The second line includes the code needed to generate and control the rendering of the news feed. The last line includes the file which contains the headlines (see below).

3) Just place this line in your web page where you would like the news feed to be displayed.

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">createNewsfeedTypewrite()</script>

Further more advanced customisation options are presented in the News Feed Web Developer's Guide

Installing scrolling news feed

Here is how you add the scroll-based news feed renderer to your page.

1) Download newsfeed-scroll.zip. Unzip the downloaded archive in the same directory where your web page is located on your web server. A directory called newsfeed-scroll is created, containing the needed files.

2) Add style information, the main scrolling script and the headlines file to the <head> section of your web page:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="newsfeed-scroll/style-scroll-up.css" type="text/css" />
<script language="JavaScript" src="newsfeed-scroll/newsfeed-scroll.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.easybyte.com/international.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

3) Just place these two lines in your web page where you would like the news feed to be displayed. The first line configures the behaviour of the newsfeed, while the second one actually creates the news feed.

<script language="JavaScript" src="newsfeed-scroll/config-scroll-up.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">createNewsfeedScroll()</script>

Click here to see a full example along with the corresponding result.

The configuration file offers a wealth of configuration options, allowing for static display of news, horizontal and vertical scroll. These options are presented in greater detail in the Newsfeed Web Developer's Guide

If you would like to change the news subject area of the news feed, these are all of the subject areas currently available. Just change the international.js  above for one of these:
